Our Beliefs
At Calvary Baptist Church, we hold steadfastly to the authority and inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures. We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word and the final authority for faith and practice.
We primarily use the New American Standard Bible (NASB) for preaching and teaching, valuing its accuracy and faithfulness to the original languages.
Our core doctrines are rooted in the Bible and include:
The Trinity: One God eternally existing in three co-equal persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Deity, Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Atoning Death, Bodily Resurrection, and Personal Return of Jesus Christ.
Salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, apart from works.
The Authority, Inerrancy, and Sufficiency of Scripture (the 66 books of the Bible).
Believer's Baptism by immersion as an act of obedience and testimony.
The eternal security of the believer.
The Autonomy of the Local Church under the headship of Christ.
The Romans Road to Salvation
We are all sinners by nature and choice.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
We receive eternal life as a free gift!
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God demonstrated His love for us, His enemies.
Our assurance of salvation through Jesus.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We must trust and surrender to Jesus as Lord.
Romans 10:9-10
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
A sinner’s prayer for forgiveness:
“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner. I know Jesus took my punishment on his cross; that he died and rose from the grave. I want to turn from my sin and trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank you for the forgiveness and everlasting life I can now have through faith in Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
